Privacy policy
dwell exists to keep your house's records for you. Plain rules, in plain words:
What we store
Your email address, a hashed version of your password (we can never read the original), and whatever you put in your ledger: spaces, items, paint colors, photos, documents, contacts, and notes. That's it — we don't collect anything you don't type or upload.
What we never do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. There are no third-party trackers or ad pixels anywhere on dwell. Our analytics are a simple first-party page counter with no personal profiles.
Who touches your data on our behalf
- Amazon Web Services hosts the app, your data, and sends our email (password resets, invites).
- Stripe handles payments. Your card number goes to Stripe, never to us.
- Anthropic (an AI provider) receives a photo only when you press "Scan" on it, to identify what's in the room. Photos are not used to train their models.
Cookies
One cookie, to keep you logged in. No cross-site anything.
Your data is yours
Export everything anytime from Settings — a PDF of your whole house plus every file you've uploaded, zipped. No hostages: export works on the free plan too.
Deleting your account
Delete your account from Settings on the website or from the menu in the iOS app. Deletion is immediate and removes your account, your houses, and every record, photo, and document in them. Server backups age out within 14 days.
We send transactional email only: verification links, password resets, and household invites you ask for. No newsletters unless you opt in to one (there isn't one yet).
